A Florida man who apparently loves donuts as much as he loves a deal has been arrested after his attempt to pair the two went wrong. Charles "Chuck" Barry got fired up at a local Dunkin' Donuts when employees denied him a 10% police officer discount he'd been accustomed to getting. (Fox 13 reports employees thought he was "abusing it.") That's when police say Barry, who had already flashed a sheriff's badge, displayed a holstered gun and said, "See, I am a cop!" the Orlando Sentinel reports. Claiming first to be a US marshal, then an air marshal, Barry—a printer, fax, and copy machine supplier—demanded he get his hands on some donuts; he didn't. He later left, only to return the very next day.

The store manager grabbed Barry's vehicle info as he went through the drive-thru on that return visit, and police halted him at a traffic stop. "While speaking with Barry, the deputy observed he had a law enforcement badge in his wallet,'' the sheriff's office said, noting it once belonged to Barry's father. "He was also carrying a .38 caliber revolver in his front pocket." One officer tells Fox 13, "He was very sorry he did what he did. I believe he was even crying on scene." Barry was charged with impersonating an officer and improper exhibition of a firearm. (More weird crimes stories.)
