(Newser) – North Korea has confirmed it's holding another US citizen, and his family is pleading for his release. Merrill Newman, an 85-year-old Korean War veteran and grandfather, was last seen on a plane to Beijing from Pyongyang on Oct. 26. His family in Palo Alto says North Korean officials pulled him off the plane five minutes before takeoff for reasons that remain unclear. Relatives say he needs heart medication.
