Spurs Hold Suns to Season Low

Posted Feb 1, 08 3:46 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – After starting strong, the Suns began to give last night's game away, piece by piece, to the Spurs. Between converting seven San Antonio turnovers in the first quarter and getting blanked on seven of its final nine possessions, Phoenix gave away a 14-point lead to lose the game 84-81, its lowest score this season, the Arizona Republic reports.

The normally dead-on Steve Nash made just six of 18 shots, and Amare Stoudemire missed his last three field goal attempts, a failing he wrote off as "no biggie." With Tony Parker out, Manu Ginobili scoreless, and Tim Duncan sitting on just six points at halftime, the Spurs were only in a six-point hole. "That kept us optimistic," said Ginobili.
