Golden Globes: Slave, Hustle Each Nab 7 Nods

Nominations announced for Jan. 12 award show

The Golden Globes nominations are in, and 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle are the leaders with seven nominations each, the AP reports. Both received Best Picture nods, along with (in the drama category) Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena, and Rush, and (in the comedy/musical category) Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Nebraska was also a big winner with five nominations including best actor for Bruce Dern, followed by Gravity and Captain Phillips with four nominations each.

In the TV categories, best dramatic series nods went to Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, The Good Wife, House of Cards, and Masters of Sex. For best comedy series, the Huffington Post reports that The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn 99, Girls, Modern Family, and Parks and Recreation were nominated. Full list of nominees here.
