(Newser) – Is George Zimmerman finally going to be able to pay his lawyers? The Florida man has decided to try his hand at painting and the bidding price for a Zimmerman painting of an American flag listed on eBay quickly soared from $50 to just short of $100,000 with four days of bidding to go, reports the New York Daily News. The painting bears the words "one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all," and Zimmerman's brother has confirmed that the listing is genuine.

"Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself," says the listing under the name therealgeorgez. "I found a creative way to express myself, my emotions, and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors." Last week, Zimmerman's girlfriend decided to drop domestic violence charges against him, saying she still wants to be with him.

Sure, if a zoo can sell paintings from elephants and monkeys, I can see this working out just fine.
