(Newser) – Fans of Duck Dynasty will never have to know what the show would be like without patriarch Phil Robertson. A&E said today it is allowing him to return with the rest of his clan in the spring when filming resumes, reports Deadline.com. The network had suspended him after his anti-gay remarks to GQ, but because filming had been on hiatus anyway between seasons, the suspension will have no effect on any of the episodes, notes the Hollywood Reporter. In its statement, A&E reiterated that it disagrees with Robertson's views about homosexuality, but "Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man's views."

A&E you need to understand you do NOT provide nor dictate my morals and you never will. Your sole job is to provide me with entertainment, nothing more nothing less. If I don't like the entertainment you are providing it is my choice to change the channel. You on the other hand have the choice of what type of entertainment you provide. In the future I would suggest you think your choices all the way through before you make any more rash corporate decisions and during that process of decision making you may want to take into consideration who and what type of viewer pays your bills. We tuned in because of the Good Ole Boys, NOT because it was "A&E"....understand??

That's exactly how it should've been from the beginning, no suspension. A&E doesn't have to agree with his views to have him on TV. His views aren't that of the network, end of story. And frankly how a "network" - i.e. MANY people - can have A view is beyond me. Just more politically correct crap...
