(Newser) – Dubai, home of the world's tallest building, decided to usher in 2014 in typical over-the-top fashion with the biggest fireworks display in history. Guinness World Records staff certified that the spectacular 30-minute show, featuring 400,000 fireworks over dozens of miles of shoreline, was the biggest ever, easily beating Kuwait's 77,000-firework display last year, CNN reports. In London, meanwhile, the annual fireworks display was a more sensory affair than usual, featuring peach-flavored snow, edible banana confetti, and orange-scented bubbles, the AP reports.
