France's first lady has been admitted to the hospital, reports Reuters via Le Parisien, after rumors began swirling Friday that Francois Hollande was carrying on an affair with actress Julie Gayet. Hollande's longtime companion Valerie Treirweiler was reportedly admitted Thursday night after hearing the allegations, and doctors have prescribed bed rest. Elysee Palace had no comment and Trierweiler's spokesperson was unavailable; Hollande has threatened to sue Closer magazine over the reports. Meanwhile, the Sydney Morning Herald runs down the tricky situation in which Trierweiler finds herself as the nation's potentially wronged "First Girlfriend." (More Francois Hollande stories.)
