Dubai Makes 4 Straight for Tiger

Posted Feb 3, 08 1:22 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – A day after sinking four shots behind Ernie Els, Tiger Woods birdied five of his last seven holes to overcome the deficit and see if Els could catch up, reports the AP. Instead, the South African hit water on the 18th, handing Woods his fourth straight tournament. "To go 2-for-2, it's a pretty good start, isn't it?" Woods said.

At seven, Els has finished runner-up to Woods more times than any other player, including one other 18th-hole shot that found water at Dubai. Last week, Woods won the Buick Invitational handily with an eight-stroke lead. "I like (winning) by seven or eight a lot," he said. "It's a lot less stressful."
