Super Bowl Stunner: Giants Win!

Posted Feb 3, 08 9:34 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Tom Brady had one of his trademark brilliant fourth-quarter comebacks—but three minutes later, Eli Manning did, too, and the Giants shocked the formerly perfect Patriots, 17-14. Manning hit Plaxico Burress, who had guaranteed a Giants win several days before, on a 13-yard fade with 35 seconds left, and the Patriots were unable to answer.

After a lackluster three quarters, tnew York took a 10-7 lead early in the fourth quarter. Tom Brady then calmly led his team down the field, hitting Randy Moss for the go-ahead score on third down with three minutes to go. The remaining time turned out to be plenty for the Giants to achieve one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history.
