A Florida 18-year-old says he was suspended after word got out that he had appeared in pornographic material—a job he took to help his family financially, he told WKMG. But the school district says the story is more complicated. Once other students found out about the X-rated film, they teased Robert Marucci, a school district rep says; he may have responded with threats. "We had an investigation, which is now complete, and the student is welcomed to come back (to discuss) his educational options." Marucci was suspended for four days, CNN reports.

The rep added: "No child would ever be suspended for a job that they have outside of the school environment." According to Marucci's mother, however, a school official "flat out told me that my son was expelled, not just suspended; he was expelled due to his explicit adult lifestyle career." The suspension resulted in a student walkout to protest the punishment. Cocoa High School's Facebook page is full of comments in support of Marucci, the Miami Herald notes. His mother's stance on the porn: "I think he's the most awesome person in the world. He stood up and he was the man of the house when I couldn't be." (More Robert Marucci stories.)
