(Newser) – The people who brought you Back to the Future are revving up the old Delorean to 88mph—but this time, on stage. A musical version is reportedly opening in London next year, for the film's 30th anniversary. The classic movie's original director and screenwriter Robert Zemeckis is said to be on board, and the production will include music from the original movie plus some new stuff by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. No word on just how closely the musical will follow the movie's plot, but London-based director Jamie Lloyd says the musical version will be a "unique" adaptation. It could end up on Broadway if all goes well.

Will it open on Jan. 21,2015? Marty and Doc will be there, but just to stop Marty's and Jennifer's son from doing something dumb.
