Brady Still Fab, Just Not Perfect

Posted Feb 4, 08 3:24 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Tom Brady is used to pulling off daring fourth-quarter rescues, but not last night. Was he to blame? The Providence Journal’s Robert Lee doesn’t think so, and neither does Wes Welker. “He’s everything you want in a quarterback,” the receiver said. "There was no rabbit in the hat," writes the Boston Globe's Bob Hohler.

Brady brought his trademark last-quarter heroics, going 8-for-11 for 71 yards, Lee points out. But for Sports Illustrated’s Andrew Perloff, some of the blame has to fall on the shoulders of No. 12. In the end, Brady is still a system QB, albeit a phenomenal one, Perloff writes, and the Giants shattered that system by overpowering the Patriots' offensive line.
