Pau Gasol did not disappoint in his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers. The seven-foot Spaniard scored 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds as Los Angeles beat the New Jersey Nets 105-90, reports the Associated Press. Kobe Bryant scored a season-low six points but had eight assists and seemed to work well with his newly-arrived teammate.

Vince Carter’s 27 points led the Nets, who have now lost 11 of their last 13. The Lakers acquired Gasol last week from Memphis. In return the Grizzlies recieved Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, two first-round picks, and the draft rights to Marc Gasol, Pau's brother. (More basketball stories.)
