In the heinous-if-true department: A Detroit cop has been suspended amid allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman who called 911 for help, reports MLive. Prosecutors say officer Deon Nunlee and his partner answered a domestic violence call from a woman who said her boyfriend had assaulted her. While Nunlee's partner remained downstairs with the boyfriend, Nunlee allegedly took the 31-year-old woman upstairs into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
When the woman reported the incident the following day, Nunlee was placed on administrative duties. When results of the rape kit came back last month, the department suspended him without pay, reports the Detroit Free Press. The 40-year-old faces sexual assault and other charges. “I’m troubled,” says Detroit Police Chief James Craig. "Certainly, this is the type of criminal misconduct that should never happen by any member of this department, or any department for that matter.”
