(Newser) – A Connecticut pastor managed to get a long-ago infidelity off his chest before he died—but only just. Parishioners say Bishop Bobby Davis asked them to stay behind after a Sunday service at Bridgeport's Miracle Faith World Outreach church so he could confess something to them. After he came clean, he collapsed and died as members of the congregation shouted at him. "We were shouting, 'We forgive you, we love you,' but the stress of all of it—he had a heart attack," one parishioner tells the Connecticut Post.

Another parishioner, however, tells the Christian Post that chaos ensued after the bishop's wife of 50 years pushed him to confess and other family members reacted angrily. "I was told one of the daughters poured water on him," the source says. "It was like something out of, not even like the Old Testament, but a bad reality TV show." After interviewing parishioners and reviewing video from inside the church, police decided there was no criminal aspect to the death; the medical examiner's office is still working to determine the cause.

kiddingme: That is not correct. King David (OT) hardly confessed his sexual sin in a timely manner. He needed for Nathan to literally put him on the spot and call him out before he would admit anything. And yet he was named a hero of the Bible. Forgiveness can be granted at any time WHEN a person is truly ready to confess their sin. The Prodigal Son parable also demonstrates that. Sometimes it takes years. Only God knows a person's heart. I suggest you withhold any judgement upon this person unless you're the first person since Jesus Christ that can say you've never sinned. Remember that if you believe in the concept of sin then one sin (no matter how small/great) condemns you to the same fate as the worst sinner. There is one thing about Heaven that you should know - it will be full of sinners. Forgiven sinners.

"It was like something out of, not even like the Old Testament, but a bad reality TV show." Are you kidding? If that was on a reality show, it would have gotten awesome ratings.
