Evidence Could Prove Clemens Took Steroids

Posted Feb 6, 08 5:15 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Lawyers for Brian McNamee say that the former strength and conditioning coach has turned over evidence that can prove pitcher Roger Clemens took steroids. A source tells the New York Daily News that the materials include vials with traces of steroids, and even syringes and pads that may contain traces of Clemens' DNA.

"We will provide Congress with corroborative physical evidence that takes this case out of the he-said, she-said purview," says a McNamee lawyer. Any verifiable proof that Clemens took steroids could lead the pitcher to face perjury charges for denying under oath that he had taken performance-enhancing drugs during yesterday's meetings with congressional staff.
