A few more details are trickling out in the horrific case of the Utah woman who confessed to strangling or smothering six dead babies found hidden in her garage and hiding the body of a seventh stillborn child alongside them. Police yesterday revealed that none of the babies were born in a hospital; Megan Huntsman, 39, gave birth each time at home. Authorities didn't say whether she had any assistance. And while they have an initial theory on motive, they wouldn't give any details.

Neighbors have said they never knew she was pregnant, though they now remember weight fluctuations and toggling between baggy and tight clothes. "So, she apparently knows how to do it," said Pleasant Grove Police Capt. Mike Roberts. Indeed: Her estranged husband, who stumbled upon the first body, says he had no knowledge of the pregnancies, and Roberts noted that no one was aware that Huntsman was pregnant with her two oldest daughters, now 18 and 20, until she had them. They were born in a hospital. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that it will likely be weeks until the medical examiner's office's report is completed. The office will work to see if DNA can be extracted from what's left of the infants' remains. (More Megan Huntsman stories.)
