Senior Prank Ends With 62 Students Arrested
Vaseline was smeared on the walls.   (?)

Senior year may not be ending so pleasantly for 62 students at New Jersey's Teaneck High School. They were arrested in connection with an ill-advised senior prank that involved them busting into their school around 2am today and allegedly doing the following: rubbing Vaseline on door handles, peeing in hallways, flipping over and breaking desks, graffiti-ing the place, and leaving balloons in their wake, report the Record and NBC New York. They caused extensive damage, say police, in what may have been a very short window: Police responded to a security alarm at 2:11am.

A sweep of each room returned the 62 students; some were hiding while others were attempting to flee. They've since been charged with criminal mischief and burglary, and the 38 who are under age 18 have been handed over to their parents. The adult students are appearing in Teaneck municipal court this morning, and the school's superintendent says the district "is considering the consequences it will impose on the students implicated." But one senior tells NJ.com, "It's not as bad as everybody's making it seem. They cleaned it up in two hours," and classes are being held as usual. (More prank stories.)
