Shan Foster led the way with 21 points, but it was Jermaine Beal who saved day today for No. 23 Vanderbilt. Beal drove the length of the court and hit a short fadeaway with 0.6 left to lift the Commodores to a 66-65 SEC win over South Carolina today, reports the Associated Press. The Gamecocks had taken the lead on a Devan Downey layup with six seconds left. In other Top 25 action:

  • Michael Beasley set a school record with his 19th double-double as No. 20 Kansas State beat Oklahoma State 82-61 in a Big 12 game. Beasley had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Wildcats.
  • Drew Neitzel scored 21 points after not taking a shot in the game's first 12:35 to lead Michigan State to a 70-55 Big Ten win over Northwestern.
