(Newser) – Authorities say a northeast Florida woman who didn't like her neighbors had their mobile home demolished. According to an arrest report, Ana Maria Moreta Folch of St. Augustine told a heavy equipment operator that she owned the trailer and wanted it and its septic tank destroyed. The Florida Times-Union reports that St. Johns County Sheriff's deputies were called when the trailer's real owner arrived Monday and found the demolition underway.

The arrest report says Moreta Folch wanted the trailer bulldozed because she thought its occupants were unsavory and she suspected they had broken into her car. She was charged with criminal mischief, a third-degree felony, and was released Wednesday on $10,000 bail.

I know people like this who feel themselves entitled. Had I done this I'd be doing hard time. She destroys property not hers, people's home, and all she gets is 'criminal mischief', no time. She must know where a skeleton is buried, something like that. Glad the press picked this up, maybe she'll get proper punishment for her bullying.

My disabled son lives in a mobile home park where several poor residents burn firewood 24/7 to heat their homes in winter. The place is a sea of woodsmoke, and sometimes his home is all but uninhabitable. My son is so disabled he does not know why he is always coughing. I have been sorely tempted to rent a backhoe and knock down the homes of the primary offenders in self-defense, but settled on talking with them instead. Some of them flipped me off. Others were sympathetic. In one case, I pay the heating bill of his nearest neighbor, which is about $300 per season. Cheaper than going to jail.
