While many might hit their local fast-food joint to chase away the excesses of the night before, an Iowa couple found the excess itself tucked between the patties of their McDonald's double cheeseburgers. As they were chowing down one evening last month in Ottumwa, the couple noticed what the Des Moines Register calls "plant material" in their burgers that looked and smelled a lot like an herb not on the sanctioned ingredients list: marijuana. Apparently unappreciative of the prank, the angry couple—the woman is pregnant, notes KCCI— reported the burgers to McDonald's management and then to local police. Cops confirm that the added ingredient "appears to be consistent with marijuana" and are investigating. No charges as yet, and the Mickey Dee's is still open. (More strange stuff stories.)
