(Newser) – When you're ready to tee off, you probably don't expect it's from above a dead body ... but as many as 84 graves have been uncovered beneath an Atlanta golf course. Locals told stories of a cemetery beneath the course, which was built in the 1930s, and the discovery of an old map led to those stories being verified. Researchers used ground-penetrating sonar to find the graves by locating air pockets two to four feet underground. The graveyard is thought to have been a cemetery for people who lived in poorhouses in the early 1900s, and it's not clear how or why the golf course was built over it.

Did I miss the name of the course? Used to live in Atalanta, just curious.
