Blackberry's wireless service is down across the US and Canada today, PC World reports. Blackberry-maker Research in Motion, at a loss to explain the outage, first reported it at 3:30 p.m. EST and called the outage "ongoing." Only half of Blackberries are currently without email, RIM added.

A software upgrade last weekend temporarily disrupted Blackberry service, and an outage last April left web-deprived customers upset with RIM's slow response time. But RIM has not indicated that there's any connection between the three blackouts. (More BlackBerry stories.)
