(Newser) – A.J. Price had a career-best 26 points and led the No. 17 Connecticut Huskies to an 84-78 victory over No. 20 Notre Dame. Price also had nine assists as UConn extended its winning streak to eight games at the expense of the Irish’s own run of five straight victories.  Luke Harangody had a career-high 32 points for the Fighting Irish, reports the Hartford Courant.

The win brings Connecticut’s Big East record to 8-3, which is good for a share of third place alongside Notre Dame. Georgetown leads the conference with a 10-2 mark. The Huskies trailed for much of the game but tough defense and smart play from Price gave them the lead for good with under four minutes remaining.
