Dwight Howard scored 23 points and grabbed 24 rebounds as Orlando defeated Denver 109-98. It was Howard’s sixth 20-point, 20-rebound of the season and it came on the heels of coach Stan Van Gundy’s accusation that the young center was worrying too much about scoring, reports the Associated Press. Carmelo Anthony had 32 points to lead the Nuggets before fouling out. Elsewhere in the Association:

  • The Detroit Pistons got 14 points each from Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince in a 96-80 victory over the Indiana Pacers. The win gives Detroit 10 straight.
  • As news of the Jason Kidd trade circulated throughout the league the Toronto Raptors demolished the Nets, who were playing without their point guard, 109-91.
