The first-ranked Memphis Tigers may have given Houston some hope with a 37-35 first-half lead, but they weren't about to give the game away. Holding the tough-talking Cougars to 29% shooting after the break and pulling in 13 more rebounds, Memphis kept its record perfect with a 68-59 victory. In other college hoops action:
- The No. 4 Volunteers missed their first 11 free-throw attempts but turned JaJuan Smith's 32 points into a 93-71 victory over a Razorbacks team that was suddenly almost as cold as the weather.
- The No. 15 Bulldogs missed two final chances to stave off a loss to the Salukis, who snagged the 65-62 upset.
