(Newser) – A family fight in a small town in North Carolina ended with 84-year-old Lloyd Woodlief dead, his 49-year-old son Lloyd Peyton Woodlief hospitalized with a gunshot wound, and his 11-year-old grandson in custody. Police in Kittrell say a preliminary investigation suggests the grandfather shot and wounded his son with a 22-caliber pistol before the grandson shot him dead with a 12-gauge shotgun, reports CNN. A juvenile petition, the equivalent of an arrest warrant for adult offenders, has been taken out against the boy and he is now in the custody of juvenile services, the Henderson Dispatch reports. Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing, police say.

Did the 11 year old have a permit? Did he have a right to protect his dad and himself? I think he should spend the rest of his life in prison and the government should take everyone's gun away, except for the police, Diane Feinstien, and Nancy Pelosi.

Good boy. Good boy with a gun, stopped a bad grandpa with a gun, but good. All is at peace now, in NRAland.

Maybe Grandpa was defending himself using stand your ground laws. Which would be legal. Then the boy killed his Grandpa which would be illegal. This has a Coen Brothers movie written all over it.
