LA Wants Paris Behind Bars

Posted May 3, 07 9:07 PM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip Crime & Courts US

(Newser) – Los Angeles prosecutors want to show Paris Hilton the real simple life: jail. The city's lawyers are pushing for the itinerant blonde heiress to spend 45 days in the slammer for repeatedly violating her parole on a reckless driving conviction after a tad too much clubbing last fall. Hilton got three years probation and alcohol education, but hasn't fallen in line with either.

A judge can give Paris up to 90 days when she shows up in Superior Court this Friday. The star of a reality TV lineup (including her 2004 sex tape) has had a knack for trouble, but never been in lockdown. Prosecutors have also recommended a little accessorizing for Paris—a monitoring device to make sure she complies.
