Lawsuit Seeks $100M From 'Spying' Patriots

(Newser) – A former St. Louis Rams player and some fans are trying to make Spygate very costly for the New England Patriots, reports the Boston Herald. A lawsuit was filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in New Orleans seeking $100 million from the Patriots for taping the Rams last walk-through practice before the 2002 Super Bowl. The Patriots upset the Rams 20-17.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of ex-Ram Willie Gray, two 2002 Super Bowl ticket holders and one Rams seat license holder. The suit names team owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick. The Patriots, who were fined and penalized for taping New York Jets defensive signals this season, deny reports they taped the Rams practice. The NFL has also said there is no evidence of the taping.
