McCartney Coughs Up $108M to Mills

Posted Feb 16, 08 1:32 PM CST in Gossip

(Newser) – Maybe all you need is love, but when that fails, $108 million isn’t bad either. That’s how much Heather Mills will get from her ex-Beatle ex-hubby Paul McCartney in a divorce settlement both have agreed to, the Daily Mail reports. But Mills will have to sign a confidentiality agreement, vowing not to speak publicly or write about the bitter breakup. No other Brit papers have confirmed the deal.

The Daily Mail says the settlement makes Mills the primary caretaker for their daughter, though McCartney will have equal visitation rights. Little Beatrice comes away with a $2 million trust fund of her own. Mills plans to leave England, where she says she’s become a “hate figure.” Not that she needs worry; the settlement also provides her with a four-man bodyguard contingent 24 hours a day.
