(Newser) – A bombshell from Robin Williams' wife: The actor had been diagnosed with Parkinson's before his death. "Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety, as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly," Susan Schneider says in a statement obtained by Variety. She adds that the family hopes "in the wake of Robin's tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid." (Williams' friends say he had been struggling with depression of late.)

Ya'd think joining Muhammad Ali and Michael Fox would have been a headline crew Williams would have loved. Too bad he couldn't have helped them battle the disease. Still, sorry to see a good man go early in pain.

"He was not yet ready to share publicly"... the fact that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. What right does his wife have to share it. Maybe he never would have been ready, living or dead. It should have been his decision...not hers.
