(Newser) – Soon your nail polish could tell you if your drink contains date rape drugs. The innovative polish would work by changing color when it comes in contact with any date rape drug, so the wearer just has to discreetly dip her finger in her drink to test it for safety. The polish, called Undercover Colors, was created by four male undergraduates at North Carolina State University and is still in development.

What color does it turn in alcohol, the most popular date rape drug of all time?

The color change is probably based on specific chemical reactions to the main drug ingredient. The only real problem is to test for more than one type.
