NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is coming under increasing fire for his actions—or, as some are saying, inaction—surrounding the Ray Rice domestic-violence controversy after a second video of Rice emerged Monday, this one actually showing the alleged assault on his then-fiancee Janay Palmer (now his wife). Goodell told Norah O'Donnell of CBS This Morning that he had not seen the new video until Monday morning, that no one else in the NFL had seen it until then, and that the new video "was extremely clear, was extremely graphic, and it was sickening."

Goodell says he's baffled about how TMZ was able to obtain video supposedly on law enforcement lockdown—even though, to its credit, the website has broken a number of stories over the past 10 months, including the Donald Sterling and Jameis Winston flaps, the New York Times notes. "I don't know how TMZ or any other website gets their information," Goodell told O'Donnell. And despite the newest evidence outlining what happened in that hotel elevator, Goodell isn't making Rice's indefinite NFL suspension permanent just yet. "I don't rule [Rice playing again] out," he told O'Donnell. "But he would have to make sure that we are fully confident that he is addressing this issue clearly, [that] he has paid the price for the actions that he's already taken." (Read other reactions.)
