Clinton's Texas Roots—Are They Too Old?

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton's deep Texan ties may win her next month's primary, but only if young voters feel the same bond, the Washington Post reports. Her romance with the state dates back 35 years and has won her a base “broader than in any other state that I can think of," said Clinton ally Henry Cisneros. But Obama is aiming to entice her young Latino supporters and may benefit from the state's muddled primary/caucus mix.

Here's how it works: The state's primary will pick about two-thirds of pledged delegates, and nighttime caucuses will choose the rest. Obama not only fairs better at caucuses but could benefit from a system that favors black areas over Latino ones. "I personally believe she'll win the Texas primary," Cisneros said. "The dilemma here is by how much, and how do we deal with this conundrum of the caucuses?"
