Hilton Headed To Hoosegow

Posted May 4, 07 10:34 PM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip Crime & Courts US

(Newser) – Supply your own "simple life" joke: Paris Hilton is going to jail. After finding that the famous-for-being-famous socialite violated her probation, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Michael Sauer today sentenced her to 45 days. The sometime reality-TV star wept as she learned she has until June 5 to find a dog-sitter.

Already on probation for alcohol-related reckless driving, Hilton was pulled over in February for driving without headlights. She testified that she was unaware her license was suspended, but Sauer said, "I think she just wanted to disregard everything that was said." Contending that Hilton was "selectively targeted for prosecution," her lawyer said he will appeal.
