With the days when 23 delegates were no big deal a distant memory, Hillary Clinton isn't conceding Vermont to Barack Obama, the Burlington Free Press reports. She has sent three staffers to open a field office in a state where her opponent has seven paid workers, four offices, and the backing of the co-founders of Ben & Jerry's.
Ex-governor Madeleine Kunin convinced Clinton to make a play for the tiny state. "We're not writing it off," she said, but she isn’t expecting much—Ohio and Texas vote the same day. Vermont icons Ben Cohen, Jerry Greenfield, and Pat Leahy back Obama: Cohen gave the campaign two Honda Elements, which he christened “ObamaMobiles,” and Leahy is doing radio commercials for his fellow senator.
