Celeb Babies Bundles of Joy, $$

Posted Feb 20, 08 12:52 PM CST in Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – Having a baby is hard, but these days it’s a well-compensated job if you’re a celebrity, Advertising Age reports. People is supposedly ready to pay Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez $4-$6 million for exclusive domestic rights to pictures of their impending twins—a possible record amount—and reportedly shelled out $1.5 million for photos of Christina Aguilera and child.

The pictures might not be worth it: The New York Post reports sales were average for the Aguilera issue. But there’s the brand to maintain, says one staffer: When there’s a celebrity baby, readers know “People magazine is the place that you're going to find that.” The mag better get its checkbook ready—the Post reports J. Lo checked into her maternity suite today.
