Palin Source Explains That Huge Party Brawl

The Palins would apparently like to set the record straight regarding the huge drunken party brawl they were reportedly "present" for two weekends ago. A source close to the Palin family provided the family's "version of the events" to Real Clear Politics over the weekend, and confirms that several Palins were indeed present at a party on the night in question, but that it was not Todd Palin's birthday party (though it was held on his birthday). The source says that—though initial reports had Track Palin confronting his sister Willow's ex—it was actually Willow's ex who started the trouble when he engaged in "questionable behavior" (it's not clear what) and then "tried to get in" to the Palins' Hummer limousine.

An altercation ensued, and four guys ended up "pil[ing] on" Track Palin, the source says; that's when Todd got involved. As father and son brawled, the source says, Sarah Palin shouted, "Don’t you know who he [Track] is? He’s a vet!" She did not, the source insists, yell "Don't you know who I am?" as had been previously reported. "From my understanding, she was in full ‘mama grizzly’ mode defending the kids," the source says, noting that Todd was left bleeding and Track ended up with four cracked ribs. The source also acknowledges Bristol was involved in the melee, but says she's left-handed and therefore could not have displayed, as was reported, a "mean right hook." (More Sarah Palin stories.)
