PETA Bristles at 'Cruel' Aretha

(Newser) – The Queen of Soul's fondness for fur means she isn't getting any R-E-S-P-E-C-T from PETA, Access Hollywood reports. Aretha Franklin has topped the animal rights organization's latest worst-dressed list after wearing a fur coat to the Grammys. "Music lovers may think of you as a 'queen,' but to animal lovers, you are a court jester," wrote PETA's vice president.

The catty countdown continued with leather-loving Marilyn Manson, Eva Longoria, "supermodel to super-tramp" Kate Moss, "cold-blooded' Kylie Minogue, and "skanky" fur wearer Lindsay Lohan. The animal rights group had a few suggestions as well as jibes: "Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice?" PETA wrote to Aretha.
