Porn-Thieving Geek Squad Needs Spanking

Posted Feb 21, 08 12:06 PM CST in Arts & Living Technology

(Newser) – No matter where you stand on pornography, Violet Blue writes in the San Francisco Chronicle, the theft of it from computers brought in for repair by Best Buy's Geek Squad is an appalling privacy violation—and the company's response isn't much better. After king Geek Robert Stephens brushed off a blog's investigation, Blue says he's overdue for a laundry list of disciplinary action.

Consumerist.com reported that Geek Squad members copied porn off the computer of late adult performer Jasmine Grey, then passed it around. "Just because we need to have some tech help," Blue writes, "doesn't mean we should be worried that our entire private lives—especially the sex parts—are going to get passed around for company amusement."
