Obama Wins Delegates Abroad

(Newser) – Barack Obama has won the primary organized by Democrats Abroad, a global organization controlling seven official delegates in the national convention, the AP reports today. Obama won more than 65% of the 20,000 US expatriates who voted from more than 164 countries. It is Obama’s 11th consecutive primary victory over Hillary Clinton, who has not won one since Feb. 5.

The Democrats Abroad primary, which has no equivalent in the Republican Party, adds the odd wrinkle of fractional delegates to the race. The results announced today decide 4.5 delegate votes, of which Obama won 2.5 and Clinton won 2. A conference to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, in April will decide the remaining 2.5.
