Klitschko Toys With Ibragimov for WBO Title

Posted Feb 24, 08 12:14 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Wladimir Klitschko looked more like the older brother picking on his smaller sibling than someone trying to win a heavyweight title fight last night. The much taller and stronger Klitschko barely took a punch in beating Russian Sultan Ibragimov for the minor WBO belt in a unanimous decision, reports the Associated Press.

Klitschko (50-3, 44 KOs), didn't think it was that easy. "He was very difficult to fight," the Ukrainian said. "He kept backing off. He's very careful, but the result counts." Klitschko nows owns three belts, the IBF, the IBO and the WBO. This was the first unification bout in nearly nine years.
