St. Louis police are investigating a "suspicious" death in Ferguson, Mo., after police chief Jon Belmar described a riot-like scene overnight. The body of a young black male was discovered this morning in a burned-out white Pontiac parked in a driveway near the spot where Michael Brown was killed, Fox2Now reports, adding the driver's side window had been shot out. "This incident is currently being classified as a suspicious death and will remain so until evidence allows a different classification," a St. Louis County Police Department rep tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. A reporter on Twitter adds the man, variously reported as in his late teens or early 20s, was shot in the head and set on fire. At least 14 others in Ferguson have been treated for injuries at a hospital, CBS St. Louis reports.

Earlier, Belmar told the Post-Dispatch that it's a wonder he wasn't shot last night, as he heard at least 150 gunshots and "got lit up" as he drove around the city. Police made at least 61 arrests, up from the 29 arrests initially reported, as a dozen businesses burned; other businesses were vandalized and looted, reports the Post-Dispatch. The New York Times adds that more National Guard troops are being sent in today "to ensure people and property will be protected," Gov. Jay Nixon says. Click for more on the protests.
