Howard, Bench Depose Kings

Posted Feb 24, 08 10:22 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The post-Bibby Kings finally lost, falling flat in Orlando in the decisive fourth quarter. Backups Brian Cook and Keyon Dooling combined for 20 in a 22-8 run that gave the Magic a commanding 20-point lead. Dwight Howard was his customary monster self, leading his team with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the 112-93 win.

Sacramento guard Kevin Martin was clutch early but quiet late, finishing with 21 and a position-belying 10 boards. Ron Artest added 23 for the new-look Kings, who had won three straight since trading franchise face Mike Bibby to Atlanta. His replacement, ex-Spur Beno Udrih, notched just 2 points.
