Romney Son: Dad’s Re-entry ‘Possible’

(Newser) – Mitt Romney has been curiously mum since John McCain’s lobbyist scandals broke last week, perhaps because he’s thinking of jumping back into the presidential race. Josh Romney said it was "unlikely, but possible” that his father would throw his hat back in if McCain’s ethics problems broaden and imperil his candidacy, the Deseret Morning News reports.

Because he technically suspended, rather than ending, his campaign after Super Tuesday, Romney retains his nearly 300 convention delegates. Josh Romney, meanwhile, is mulling a run for US Congress from his native Utah: “I’ve had good experience on the campaign trail,” he said. Josh added that he’s not signing up to help McCain in the fall, perhaps waiting to see where dad finds himself in a few weeks.
