Ottawa added some intrigue to today's trade deadline after barely showing up in a 5-0 loss to the rival Maple Leafs last night, reports the Ottawa Citizen. Toronto captain Mats Sundin, who refused to waive a no-trade clause last weekend, opened the scoring, and his teammates followed with a four-goal outburst in the second—including two by Darcy Tucker.
Special teams played a big part as the Leafs clicked on three power play chances while blanking the Sens on their four opportunities. Goalie Ray Emery, one of the Sens' heroes during their Stanley Cup finals run last year, was pulled after two periods when he gave up the five goals on only 21 shots. Meanwhile, Toronto's Vesa Toskala posted his third shutout.
