A man in a trench coat is suspected in the stabbing of five people in a popular Washington, DC restaurant and club. The victims were attacked in the early hours of this morning at McFadden's, on Pennsylvania Avenue, eight blocks from the White House, the Raw Story reports. Two people were seriously injured, and all were hospitalized, but authorities expect them to survive, police say.

The victims were childhood friends out for a birthday, the father of one tells WJLA. Authorities are on the lookout for an attacker who, they say, escaped the bar, the Washington Post reports. "McFadden’s can be a rowdy place, but it was not a violent place," says a graduate of nearby George Washington University. (More Washington, DC stories.)
