Jennifer Feuerman apparently exited her Mercedes-Benz while it was still running Saturday, and it was a move that ended in tragedy. The 50-year-old Long Island woman was found dead around 7pm that night on Bowditch Lane in Center Moriches, and investigators believe the 2012 car—which was still in gear—backed over Feuerman and pinned her under the driver's side door, NBC New York reports. The investigation continues and the car is undergoing a safety check, CBS New York reports.

A similar story out of Idaho has a somewhat better ending: Also on Saturday, a 79-year-old woman parked at her house and then tried to get out of her 2000 Ford Excursion; she was trapped as it either rolled or slid backward, according to a Facebook post by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. A 17-year-old boy who works for her saw the scene unfold and tried to help, but the car ended up pushing both of them across the street and over an embankment. They both ended up pinned, but the teen was able to get out. The woman was extracted by the fire department and survived, though she did suffer significant injuries and possible hypothermia. The teen was treated and released for minor injuries. (More accidental death stories.)
