Transgender Con Upset Over Fading Femininity

Killer suing for surgery wants more treatment

(Newser) – A prisoner who has sued for a sex-change operation has complained that treatments to feminize her body have stopped, the AP reports. “My breasts have shrunk, genitals have regained previous size, facial hair is thicker,” Michelle Kosilek, formerly Robert, wrote in a letter to the court considering the request for sex-reassignment surgery. Kosilek was convicted of the 1990 murder of his wife.

The con sued the Massachusetts Department of Correction in 2000, calling its denial of surgery cruel and unusual punishment. The judge approved treatment for gender-identity disorder but not surgery, which would be the first court-ordered sex-change operation. Kosilek sued again for the operation in 2005 and testified, "I would not want to continue existing like this."
